Inspirational Story of Hugh Herr the famous mountaineer
The goal you want to achieve test you! Are you committed? Do you want to achieve it? Turn back the pages of the history! Whoever have achieved did not get success simply because they were interested in it but because of the commitment they have to achieve it.
The goal you wanted to achieve towards which you are forwarding. You are bound to get set backs and you face problems. You get unexpected obstructions. Those are the tests your target has made for you.
Do you get afraid of them are stop there or face them and go a head? I will narrate the story of Hugh Herr. A living example. He was born in America in 1964. His hobby was mountaineering. When he was eight years old, he climbed a 11627 feet high mountain as he was committed. When he became youth of 17, he became one of the best mountaineer in America. When he was at a high altitude, a snow wave suddenly hit him. He was caught in it, his legs were buried in the snow. And he had spend there in that condition for three Nights. His Legs were so damaged that his legs were operated upon and his legs were to amputated. His loved climbing the mountain but he is lost his two legs. Doctors said that it was not possible for him to climb anymore.
If he was only interested in it, he could have stopped at that stage because of that reason. But, he was not simply interested but he had strong commitment.
He wanted to do it and get it anyhow. In Spite of any big problem, he didn't see it as a problem but as on opportunity he solved it.
Do you know how? He used his engineering knowledge clubbed with biophysics to invent a great model with advanced technology with which he made artificial legs.
Now he was 8 feet in height. Is there benefit in the problem? Yes while climbing a mountain, even a small hole like a hole in which only a finger can enter, it is difficult to lift his body weight on it.
So he made his legs in such a way, that he could lift his body with a hold on his finger. By making so, he could achieve much more than his goal of climbing Heights. He climbed to big Heights that was many times more than the one he fixed as a target for himself to achieve.
Do you think you get a bigger problem than this in your life? Do you expect a bigger hurdle than this? Can there be a great obstacles than this? When you get problem in your life you should only think that My target is testing me! When I overcome it, i get the fruits of reaching my goal.
You should never be afraid of the problems. When your focus is on the problem, you lose your focus on the target. When you focus on your goal, you will never see your problems. Thomas Alva Edison invented electric bulb. Was he only interested in doing in it or was he committed to get it? If it was only interest, after failing five times, he would have left it wasn't he? Would he have left it if he failed for ten time. what if he failed for 90 times?
Would he have abandoned the task, he would have. But a committed person attempts again after a failure for 999 times gave him what he wanted. A Genius shows good results, but ordinary person shows reasons as an excuse. If you are really a committed person, you will take ten steps forward if you have to. You may walk for hundred steps if required. You will walk even you have to work for 1000 feet. And you will achieve your goal.
Winning or losing does not depend on the circumstances in your life or opportunities you get or according to the problems you face. But gaining on losing totally depends on your mindset. Are you committed, only committed people achieve what they want.
